How To Play Video Games

The obvious answer is no, you shouldn't, but at the same time it does raise questions about what we are doing as a society and what we are missing out on. Instead of going and achieving dreams and accomplishing goals we are sitting in front of a YouTube screen watching others enjoy themselves. A good example of this is a YouTube star that goes by the name of PewDiePie. PewDiePie is famous for his videos where he will play video games and make comments about them.

Sounds like a fun little hobby, but for him it is a full-time job where he raked in over $7 million dollars in 2014 himself and at one point was purchased by Disney. Now what does that say about a society when instead of playing video games we now watch other people have fun playing them. It is odd that we have the need to watch someone accomplish their goals or dreams and never actually accomplish any of ours. Another good example is how important celebrity gossip has become in our society (An easy pun on this article). Of course you must have heard of the Kardashians, or maybe a hundred other celebrities who you have heard of, but know nothing about. What is our strategy, why do we sit and eat up all of this information when it has nothing to do with us in our daily lives?

We want to accomplish something, but by talking about all of this nonsense nothing is actually being accomplished. Maybe we should stop talking, complaining, or making a mockery of things that do not pertain to us and start dealing with stuff that does. By doing this we may actually be accomplishing what we want to do instead of eyeing up what other people are accomplishing. At the same time, sure some people do like making jokes of other people that they do not know, or complain about them and they do receive benefits. Looking back at the Shia LeBeouf video, there are pun videos that have received tens of millions of views. "Shia LeBeouf - Just Do It" is a complete joke on itself. It is entertaining and funny with a bunch of stupid motions thrown in. That is what we need. We need something that is entertaining to watch, yet at the same time the video to be motivating. While it is a joke to itself he is doing what he wants and he is trying to get other people to do it too through the power of motivation. So instead of watching other people achieve what they want through YouTube and other means, go achieve yours. JUST DO IT!

Multiple Games And Multiple Mash-Ups

Mario has become a global icon to the likes of Mickey Mouse. This is no lucky shot though because to this day Mario is always a top contender for a game of the year award on any dedicated video game website. Over the years, unlike his competitors (Sonic, Toe Jam & Earl, and Boogerman) he was able to evolve through the years. In many ways Mario is Nintendo spanning across hundreds of games, dozens of genres, and selling over a billion of copies worldwide. Interestingly enough the top ten rated video games include Mario three times, not including the originals when released.

That is not Nintendo's only celebrating mascot, much like Disney, Nintendo thrives on their variety of characters. They have Link a sword wielding hero from "The Legend of Zelda" series, Star Fox a brave space pilot from the "Star Fox" series, Samus an alien fighter from the Metroid Prime series, Donkey Kong a giant ape from the Donkey Kong series, and many more. It is insane how many characters that Nintendo does own and to this day they are still creating more. All of these characters have been in multiple games and multiple mash-ups that show them competing with one another. These mash-up happened years before the Avengers hit movie theaters, showing that Nintendo is ahead of their game in more ways than one. They have been releasing new consoles at around a 5 year span going from the Nintendo Entertainment System, to the Super Nintendo, to Nintendo 64, to Gamecube, to Wii, now finally to the Wii U. Each experience has been different and fresh letting the players play the games in a brand new way.

The games were fantastic and the consoles were improvements over one another. It is fun to describe the consoles and talk about the games, but the only way to actually understand all of this is to play a Nintendo console. Years after the release of the first Nintendo Entertainment System, Nintendo is still hitting homeruns to this day. They are fun to play, families will get together around a television set just to play some of their favorite mascots. This is something that cannot be said about the competitors. If Nintendo keeps this innovations going they will be creating games for the next century and onward when we are finally introduced to fully interactive 3D worlds. Do not be surprised if Nintendo is behind this innovative technology.

Music making Games are fun and may help develop your creativity!

Music is everywhere! We can hear sounds and rhythms in all forms whether we are in the car or just taking a walk with our headphones on. It's either for dancing or for singing along with. Sometimes it's just a theme song through the day that goes with us everywhere. In any form, it's always there for us!

Have you ever made your own music? Music making games can be your chance to try it!

Have you ever thought of making your own sounds with instruments such as piano, guitar, drums or maybe a whole orchestra? This is a great chance to explore and seek for instruments you may like and also explore what you can make out in order to create something of your own!

Music making games are easy and fun!

In most games you choose your instruments and play any sound you like, while adding more sounds and effects as you wish. It's a great way to start creating the music you love! You can also enjoy a game that involves the music, while actively managing and editing it when needed. Those games have nice, comfortable images that make the playing and use of instrument seem so real! Of course, you can listen at the same time while you are on it.

Most games have a great visual aspect and the feel is as if you really touch the instrument with your bare hands! The graphic design is made with thought and is very attractive to try and play on. It can help you learn playing music with notes. The game Music Match for example is a great way to learn how to play the piano. It gives you instruction about the instrument and tests you with keys and notes. I personally like to practice my piano playing and note remembering through that game.

Music making games - An exciting way to play with kids!

You can always enjoy your time creating music with your kids! This is a great way to have a quality time together or just know that your kids are playing something they can learn a lot from and express themselves through. It's quite easy and manageable.

Music making games - A great way to develop your skills!

You can try the drums, softly touch the piano, sing with the guitar. Then realize you want to practice a particular instrument more and maybe it will even lead to buying your own real drum set! Generally, most games seem real and accurate. That can actually simulate the sound, the feel and the way it has to be played on. It gives you a fantastic taste of what it is like playing certain instruments and making music for fun! Games such as virtual drums and drummer game can give you that kind of experience. Those games can give you a sense of what a drum set is. The sound it makes while touching the screen with the mouse, is exactly the sound of a real drum being hit by its sticks!

How Music Affects The Way We Experience Video Games

Video game music can be the best part of a game. It's one of the prime components to the aesthetics of a game and can really contribute to the soul's entirety. A game's music is the foundation for the tone, having as much (if not more) of an impact on the atmosphere than the visuals. This being said, the music can indicate what kind of game you'll think it's going to be.

If the music is happy or campy, then you might get the sense that the game is supposed to be light-hearted and joyful, just there for you to have a good time. If the music is slow, solemn, or dark, you might catch the vibe that you're getting into something serious, with an oppressive atmosphere. If the music to a game doesn't fit, it can all just make the game feel off. It might not take away from the game, but there is always the possibility.

Chip-tune is easy to replicate via humming, and if a piece is catchy it's also easy to replicate by humming. If you can hum it enough, it tends to become memorable.
Some ind games don't require music, requiring only sound effects, miscellaneous noises, and maybe the occasional bit of ambience here and there. Expertly done examples of this would be Ditto and Fallout New Vegas' Add-on Dead Money. Ditto has a very calm yet dark and oppressive tone, and the silence broken my only the sound effects and the occasional water drip drives this home. Dead Money is meant to be scary. It's ambience with random noises emphasize this the utmost degree, working with the visuals to purposely unnerve you at your core. Boy does it do it well.

Back in the day, when the music was ever so hindered by the technology of the age, music had to resort to much simpler means to convey atmosphere. They couldn't use the detailed compositions of today's music. Heck, they couldn't really get anything to sound like instruments. Instead, they composed strong melodies out of compressed sound bits that make the chip-tune style unique. These strong melodies are simple, and usually catchy. It's because they're catchy that they tend to be more memorable. Chip-tune is easy to replicate via humming, and if a piece is catchy it's also easy to replicate by humming. If you can hum it enough, it tends to become memorable. Also, it's simple nature allows you to remember it easier, but that doesn't involve humming so it's boring so whatever.

Some games can have pleasant and fitting music that just isn't that memorable. You may remember it when you hear it, but you just can't quite recall how it goes on your own. These tend to be in the ambient side of things. Fez is big on this. It doesn't really use any strong melodies, just random notes that fit the tone it's trying to convey. This type of music is usually slow-paced, providing enough space in-between chords so that it doesn't just sound like an inconceivable jumble of sounds. This type of music is by no means bad, as it can be very fitting within the game it plays during. It simply isn't near as impact full to listen to outside of the game is all.

The door is open for amazing things in the realm of video game composition, but remember that with great power, comes great responsibility.
Well as time moved on games gained access to quality sounding instruments, as well as other advancements in the music field. The floodgate of variety for musical feats one could now accomplish was open. Gaming now has ways to pull off awesome things with it's music, and it's awesome. Some might still stick to the chip-tune style, updating it and making use of the complexity they can achieve with today's technology. The door is open for amazing things in the realm of video game composition, but remember that with great power, comes great responsibility. Lets hope future video game music doesn't mess things up.

3D Games Online - Why You Should Let Your Children Play Them

New digital technologies have simply revolutionized the world of gaming. These days you can even play 3D games online. In most cases, you will not even need any special graphic cards to enjoy the gaming experience.

The graphics of 3D games are crystal clear, where the characters, cars, buildings, and other objects look almost lifelike. They come with better picture resolutions, and easy user interfaces. You will be able to follow the simple instructions, and understand the game in a matter of minutes.

Parents on the other hand, are usually apprehensive about their children spending long hours on gaming online. They fear that extensive exposure to digital games, could impact their social behaviors and psychology in negative ways.

Instead of completely restricting your children from playing 3D games online, what parents can do is fix a proper timetable for them to enjoy the games. Stopping them from playing completely might not be a good idea, because there are many benefits of gaming that you might want to know about.

Improvement of cognitive skills:

While playing the games on computers, you will need to have fast moving fingers and eyes. With time, you will see a significant improvement in your hand and eye coordination.

In most of the games, you will have to remember a lot of things in order to make the decisions that can help you in completing the missions. Such skills will help you in improving your reasoning and memory power. They are the very skills that can help your kids in learning mathematics, engineering, science, and technology.

Gamers are comparatively more relaxed:

Most of the games will get you on the edge of your seats, but over a period of time, you will learn to handle the stress in a much matured way. You will be more relaxed when facing even the toughest situations in the game. This attitude can help your child in various aspects of life as well. It will have them in staying cool and composed, while making sound decisions.

Doubles your enthusiasm:

Contrary to the popular belief that gaming makes you physically and intellectually lazy, it actually works the other way around. Studies have shown that kids who indulge in gaming are never short of enthusiasm and energy. Moreover, it makes them better strategists and problem solvers.

Makes them the go-getters:

Some of the missions in the online games are really tough, and sometimes it may more than 10 to 20 attempts before cracking them. The gamer will have to be fully determined, because the frustration of losing so many times, can make you want to quit. Good gamers are normally the most determined people, and they never rest kill they achieve their goals.

Our advice to parents would be to let your children play 3D games online, but you will need to monitor them closely, so that they cannot neglect their studies or health.

The Top 5 Basketball Video Games of All Time

5. NBA Live 04

Live 04 was a great addition to the NBA Live series. The dribbling in this game is just a blast, you have complete control over the crossover moves and spin moves easily with the freestyle control scheme. This was also the first in the series to introduce the dynasty mode. The dynasty mode was great to it had cut scenes and even kept track of all your records. One more thing that was pretty cool is that it was one of the first games to feature Lebron James.

4. NBA 2K5

NBA 2K5 was a great game and it was released for only 20 bucks, a definite steal. The game had a nice ESPN presentation and the gameplay was really solid. The isomotion controls were ahead of their time. The game allowed for you to import your players from college hoops 2K5into the association mode. But the real gem of this game is the 24/7 mode which was one of the closest things we had to a basketball simulation that was like a RPG mixed together. This game was a classic.

3. College Hoops 2K8

Out of all the college basketball games I've never played a game as deep as College Hoops 2k8. It featured an intricate legacy mode which allowed players to recruit players from high school, junior colleges, and even international players. The game even allowed you to import whole draft classes to that years iteration of NBA 2k. The gameplay was fluid in typical 2K fashion. College Hoops 2K8 has a realism that has yet to be repeated by another college game as this was the last version. Hopefully 2K could get the license back and bless us with College Hoops 2k13.

2. NBA Street Vol 2

Easily the best streetball video game of all time. This game is nothing but fun straight smash mouth basketball. Gamebreakers make a return but this game also allowed for players to pocket their gamebreakers for the craziest basketball cut scenes with gamebreaker 2's.

1. NBA 2K12

Not only is this the newest basketball game out it is also the greatest. 2k sports delivered the goods on this one as they improved on the already stellar gameplay. They also pulled out a new and improved my player mode with press conferences and endorsements. The defense is stifling the computer is no pushover on hall of fame anymore. This game will most definitely be a iteration remembered for years. That is until 2K13 raises the bar again.
